Act III

On this page, write the overall Consequence of your story in a single sentence. What happens as a result of the character’s Choice, and what is the “new normal” that results?

Within that, your overall story Consequence can be further divided into its own Conflict, Choice and Consequence.

What is the Act III’s Conflict?

What is the Act III’s Choice?

What is the Act III’s Consequence?

What is Act III’s theme? How does Act III forward the theme of your entire story?

In each of the three folders below, create text cards for each scene in your story that correspond to or forward the Conflicts, Choices, and Consequences in this section of your novel. You can duplicate the template scene card already provided, and use it as a guide.

Remember that you can reorder your scenes in any way you need, and they don’t need to be created in a linear fashion. You can further subdivide them into chapters if that fits your organizational style. You can even move them between sections if you need to, like any page in Notion.

Once you have each scene created, write a short summary of the scene, and see if you can identify that scene’s Conflict, Choice, and Consequence, or answer the questions on the provided template page. Doing so will help guide your writing and help make your story as good as it can possibly be.
